Cafetino - a piece of Greece to enjoy on a Sunday

When the autumn hits, I immediately start to miss the sun and plan my next escape to Greece or some other sunny destination. On a lazy Sunday like this, I feel like the cat in my travel photo taken in Mykonos this summer. Fortunately, the day was chilly but sunny, so I decided to go out and ease my travel ache by visiting my favorite Greek restaurant-café in Helsinki.

In case you are in Finland and love Greece, I highly recommend to stop by at Cafetino, located in Uudenmaankatu, Helsinki. Original taste of Greece and excellent service with a lovely setting.

The place is hosted by Giorgos who always welcomes you with a friendly smile. Everything he does comes from his heart and the whole place is filled with positivity. Many local Greeks visit the place as well, which adds the place's authentic flavor. 

For lunch you have always few Greek choices, and they truly taste like home-made! Everything is made by the owner himself. You can also grab your lunch as a take-away. My favorites are the Greek salad and the owen baked vegetables with feta cheese and tzatziki.

On summer days, I almost always choose an ice tea or enjoy a freddo cappuccino. Whereas for chillier weather, the Greek coffee or the hot chocolate with a cheesecake accompanied by fresh fruit are my favorites.

The interior is simple yet cosy, with pieces of art hanging on the walls. This time there were some posters on the wall by Nick the Greek.

A charming little place - a true gem with authentic Greek delicacies and friendly atmosphere.
