Niyama Sol - Clothing love story

Image
I have absolutely fallen in love with Niyama Sol's clothing. I must say it was love at first sight after seeing the first pics in Instagram and I decided to order at once.  The delivery was fast, so I did not have to wait for long to open my first Niyama Sol package. What an excitement it was! It contained the Chalk Endless leggings and Ombre Knit Beanie in 50 shades of gray. Both perfect and super comfy!  There is also an important ecological factor related to these clothing items. Their manufacturing process turns recycled water bottles into these amazing clothing items. A brilliant and sustainable business concept I happily support. The material in the leggings is simply amazingly soft and comfortable. A dream come true. I have already enjoyed wearing both items while heading to my dance and yoga classes. They are perfect both for studio use as well as streetwear. Not to mention that the beanie is the first ever beanie I...

The elegance of fashionable Milan during Xmas

Image
Milan is an amazing city filled with art, design, culture and fashion - all first-class. It is a vibrant business city where after-work drinks are a form of art. If you ask me, I have never enjoyed Milan as much as I did during Christmas time and New Year two years ago - it is truly worth experiencing. The decorations and elegance is beyond comparison. My favorite sight is Il Duomo cathedral, right in the heart of the city. It looks amazing during Christmas time, especially in the evenings. Milan is also the home for one of the most famous opera stages in the world, La Scala. Anyone passionate about fashion will truly enjoy this city. A visit to the beautiful Galleria Vittorio, an ancient and glamorous arcaded shopping gallery, as well as a stroll along the Quadrilatero d’Oro, the luxury fashion district, is a must. This world famous quadrangle of streets is definitely worth a window-shopping tour, even though you could not afford the luxuries. ...

Pouch mania

Image
You can never have too many pouches, right? In Finland the season of little xmas parties, traditional informal parties held to anticipate Christmas, is here. So I decided to have a look of my handbags and realized I have a wide selection of pouches of all kinds. They are so handy to carry inside of a bigger handbag or to use as an evening bag. Many of my bags are bought from Italy or Spain since I love brands like Coccinelle, Furla or Bimba y Lola. But some of my really unique, customized ones are made by my talented friend along the years. I absolutely love how she can make my wishes come true, realizing exactly the kind of pouch or bag I have each and every time wanted. I especially appreciate the little touches like the carefully selected fabrics and the beautiful lining fabrics. One great thing is that the linings are not black! So I am actually able to find my things easily. In so many traditional pouches and bags the linings are almost always black. ...

My little bohemian dreams

Image
One of my favorite style vibes is the boho chic style - a little bit of gypsy mixed with easy to wear beach bohemian. I enjoy combining organic, colorful, folk-inspired items with simple, modern pieces. A great thing about boho style is that you end up looking trendy yet casual. I also tend to add some boho chic atmosphere to my home with small things like dreamcatchers or colorful Moroccan poufs. I have a nice selection of  boho chic items in my wardrobe. My absolute favorites are my two wayuu mochila bags. They are 100% handmade by the Colombian Wayuu tribe. The black crochet bag with its adorable cute pompoms has accompanied me in many of my latest travels. It is amazing how well I have been able to combine it with most of my outfits. Whereas the black version is an eye catcher, the beige one is more down to earth. I also enjoy boho style jewelry like eg. big earrings or bracelets. You can easily add a twist of boho to your style. Almost any outfit ...

The perfect manicure shade to reflect the autumn

Image
One of my monthly pleasures is to get my nails done. I have been visiting for years the nail salon Studio Diamond Nails in Helsinki for my manicure - the best place for service and quality. My this month's manicure shade is a perfect deep shade of bordeaux. I added some sparkle to it with some diamonds and pearls. Nails can be like miniature mood boards and reflect the current season. These wine-colored nails suit well my autumn mood. What comes to traveling, I am not vacation-ready until my nails are done. Preferably both manicure and pedicure. Here are some examples of my various holiday manicures. I also have two favorite shades I prefer to choose, if I do not come up with some new ideas: hot red and nude. You can never go wrong with them, they go along with any outfit as well. Next on my list is to try out the shade of deep emerald. Maybe on November.
