A dose of fun through some interior styling

Image
Finally a weekend when I could live and breathe interior styling! This Saturday was dedicated to my passion for interior styling and spending time with my goddaughter. In few intense hours I ended up doing some interior styling at my goddaughter's home. We ended up mixing some old items with new ones to get a nice Boho look and to create a cosy bedroom corner in a studio of 32 square meters. We used yellow as an accent color to give some brightness and warmth to otherwise very Scandinavian white look. A pom pom cushion and an oriental rug as a token to complete the Bohemian look.  I am quite excited and pleased with the result, and that we managed to tackle the project this weekend! And we already have some new ideas cooking to complete the rest of the studio and how to turn it into a home with a soul.  My own living room has a lot of green items lately. But I am currently processing some new ideas in my head. Maybe new curtains and...

Perfect Easter delights

Image
Nature and sport activities are a good combination to clear your mind and notice how you are just a small part of the ecosystem. You must always try to look at things on a slightly larger scale - realize that everything you are feeling or is happening right now is not necessarily the truth, and things are constantly changing. This long Easter weekend has been a perfect occasion for that. Another great source of energy is time spent with your friends and family. Instead of heading to a restaurant, cooking together can be so much fun. Have you ever tried to enjoy Fazer's Mignon eggs melted? And if you are not familiar with this Finnish Easter delight, you have certainly missed something. It is not an ordinary chocolate egg but a real eggshell filled with delicious almond-hazelnut nougat. For melting the egg, place it in the oven of 80 degrees of Celsius for about 15 minutes. Once the eggshell starts literally sweating, the filling has ...

Amazing, freezing Finnish winter

Image
It has been freezing cold outside the past week, with the wind around -20C at its worst. Since I am not that big fan of cold weather nor winter, I have preferred to stay inside quite a lot. Luckily the dance classes are not held outside. :D But this weekend I decided to head outdoors and get some fresh air. I must admit it was freezing cold but I did enjoy the amazing Finnish winter and its peculiarities. The nature is absolutely full of lovely small details that you just cannot seize to wonder. The white snowy sceneries are simply beautiful. And despite of the cold weather, it was wonderful to see the sun shining. The sun just fills me up with positive energy even on winter days. And the best thing is that after a long walk outdoors, you can snuggle up on the sofa under a blanket and sip hot chocolate while watching your favorite movie or reading some fashion magazines. And not to mention dreaming of a hot hot summer... ;)

A quick visit to Turku on a Sunday

Image
During this weekend  I made a quick visit to Turku , in South-West Finland. Despite of the limited time, I managed to enjoy a nice walk by the riverfront of the River Aura and around the city center. The weather was a bit warmer again, +8C, so I could actually wear my forest green dress with a lighter jacket and feel comfortable. Yay! My friend introduced me a new restaurant, called Tres. I chose four different tapas, really tasty and especially nicely presented. I also enjoyed the small decoration details they had in the restaurant. To sum it up - a quite nice experience. Once in Turku, I can never skip the Italian ice cream of Gelateria Nuvole. This time I opted for a mix of Anguria (watermelon) and Cioccolato (chocolate), a perfect combination. And guess what? I immediately started thinking of traveling to Italy...
