Throwback to island hopping in the Bay of Naples

Image
Planning a trip to Naples or Amalfi coast? How about including some island hopping to your holiday plans? Most people visit the famous Capri or the more rustic Ischia. But why not add the less known beautiful island of Procida to your plans as well. All three islands are definitely worth visiting - three very different jewels in the southern Italian Mediterranean. An easy ferry ride away from Naples or the Amalfi coast, you can either do a daytrip or plan to stay longer. Just looking at my old travel pictures made me want to travel back again...  I have visited Capri three times, two times for a daytrip and once I have overnighted on the island. Yes, the island is as posh as you may have read but who would not need some glamour in life from time to time... ;) Capri is a picturesque island famous for its mix of nature, history and local traditions. A perfect place to relax, wander along the small alleys and enjoy beautiful panoramas and grottoes. The Piazzetta of Capri village...

Throwback to the Venetian islands

It has been only couple of weeks since my trip to Venice, La Serenissima. Once going through the photos, I felt the need to share with you a quick throwback to the pretty sceneries of the Venetian islands. Perfect place for a lazy Sunday, or what do you think? It takes roughly 40 minutes to get there, if you catch the vaporetto from Fondamenta Nuove. Or you can first make a stop in Murano and then continue to Burano like I did. The island of Murano has hosted legendary glassblowing tradit...

The elegance of fashionable Milan during Xmas

Image
Milan is an amazing city filled with art, design, culture and fashion - all first-class. It is a vibrant business city where after-work drinks are a form of art. If you ask me, I have never enjoyed Milan as much as I did during Christmas time and New Year two years ago - it is truly worth experiencing. The decorations and elegance is beyond comparison. My favorite sight is Il Duomo cathedral, right in the heart of the city. It looks amazing during Christmas time, especially in the evenings. Milan is also the home for one of the most famous opera stages in the world, La Scala. Anyone passionate about fashion will truly enjoy this city. A visit to the beautiful Galleria Vittorio, an ancient and glamorous arcaded shopping gallery, as well as a stroll along the Quadrilatero d’Oro, the luxury fashion district, is a must. This world famous quadrangle of streets is definitely worth a window-shopping tour, even though you could not afford the luxuries. ...
