Spring Party in amazing Andalusia

Image
How does a Spring Party in amazing Andalusia sound to you? In my first blog, I told you about the salsa cruise I attended in Greece. But earlier this year, I also participated in Spring Party held in Fuengirola, Spain. It was a perfect spring break - a vacation in the sun including dancing, a match made in heaven for me. Costa del Sol means finding not only outstanding beaches and over 300 days of sunshine but also beautiful landscapes and scenery. Each coastal town is rich in cultural heritage and tasty food.   Although I feared, I would get bothered by the touristic atmosphere and miss the authentic Spanish feeling, it actually proved to be wrong. Fuengirola is nowadays a vibrant, international town with a vast selection of tapas bars and restaurants and shopping opportunities. And you can find lots of amazing sceneries and culture once you step out of the touristic resorts.  For sunbathing it offers you seven kilometers of sandy beaches, Playa de la Ca...

Habana ooh na-na - Cuba gets under your skin

Image
Cuba, and especially Havana, gets under your skin. Christopher Columbus already said that it is t he most beautiful land that human eyes have seen. And Camila Cabello sings in her latest release: 'Havana, ooh na-na, half of my heart is in Havana...'  I have seen the many faces of Cuba from its ordinary daily life to luxury resorts that most of the Cubans have no possibility to visit. But it is the simple beauty of its lively, smiling people and the country's culture filled with music and dance that made me fall in love with it. I admire the people's joy of life. Even though they lack many of the commodities we are used to in the western world, they always find a reason to be happy - something to learn for so many of us. The variety of the landscape in Cuba is amazing. The beaches and the nature is so beautiful. And then Havana itself with its colorful buildings is so full of life day and night, but especially nighttime it just comes to...

Athens - love it!

Image
Many of my friends ask me why I love going back to Athens. Mostly people just opt to visit its historical sites and then head to the Greek islands. I enjoy it since it has the exact same feeling as Rome, you continuously walk among the historical sites but it is very much a lively and urban city. Although I do always enjoy a stroll in Acropolis, this summer in 40C degrees was a bit too much. But what would you not do for your goddaughter! But Athens is actually so much more than its history. I especially love to wonder the various streets of Athens and visit its many different cafes and restaurants. Furthermore, it is actually one of my favorite places currently to hunt for some new inspiration for clothes or accessorize. And usually you can renew your wardrobe with less money than in many other destinations. Athens also has a great variety of local Greek designers with interesting trends. You just need to wander around and find all the hidden gems! When in Greece...

Dancing salsa surrounded by the Greek islands

Image
This year's vacay highlight was the Salsa & Fitness Cruise 2017  in the most beautiful setting - surrounded by the Aegean sea and the Greek islands. Absolutely amazing! This was the second Salsa & Fitness Cruise I attended. The cruise is organized by the dance schools & gyms mainly from Cyprus and Greece and also other countries. I booked the tickets for me and my goddaughter Melissa through Caliente Dance Studio , in Cyprus. I can only admire how well all was once again organized by George and Dayana. They make the perfect hosts and guarantee you feel welcome and well attended throughout the whole trip. If you love traveling and dancing especially the Afro-Caribbean dances like salsa, this is the cruise to be! It is the perfect combination of dance, sun and sea and a good way to explore a bit the Greek islands in a good company. The cruise had some 25 artists participating, 4 destinations, dance lessons and parties with live...
