Coolest godmother

My goddaughter Melissa usually calls me the coolest and wildest godmother. :D There may be many reasons for it but I think it is for the many (crazy?) ideas and interests that we share. We share same kind of views on many issues and we are also both passionate about dancing and traveling - so it has created a special bond between us. It is not all roses though; we have also had our differences, but it has just grown us closer.

My goddaughter Melissa is a great source of energy and happiness for me - whenever I feel a bit down, just hanging around with her or talking to her brightens up my day enormously. We both have a same kind of sense of humor, so usually we end up laughing until our stomach hurts. This happens quite often, like when our names get spelled Sirta and Felisa in Athens.

For me, being a godmother means making time for being together. Being the fun and cool godmother. Experiencing things together, traveling if possible. If you ask me, there is no better gift for your goddaughter as seeing the world together with her.

With Melissa we both try to be super invested in each others lives - even if miles separate us. We follow each other on social media and send caring messages. Little gestures like this just make a difference.

Even in difficult times, I try not to judge. There are things that your godchild does not feel comfortable talking with their parents about. In those situations a godmother acts as a friend and can give advice - I try to be there and just listen.

I have been blessed with two amazing goddaughters. My other goddaughter lives currently far away in the Caribbean, but despite the distance, there is not a single day I would not think of her.

I am so honored of having my goddaughters in my life and I love them to bits. Being a godmother is a true honor. My aim is to be the best one I can be, a person they can rely on, no matter what. <3
