A dose of fun through some interior styling

Image
Finally a weekend when I could live and breathe interior styling! This Saturday was dedicated to my passion for interior styling and spending time with my goddaughter. In few intense hours I ended up doing some interior styling at my goddaughter's home. We ended up mixing some old items with new ones to get a nice Boho look and to create a cosy bedroom corner in a studio of 32 square meters. We used yellow as an accent color to give some brightness and warmth to otherwise very Scandinavian white look. A pom pom cushion and an oriental rug as a token to complete the Bohemian look.  I am quite excited and pleased with the result, and that we managed to tackle the project this weekend! And we already have some new ideas cooking to complete the rest of the studio and how to turn it into a home with a soul.  My own living room has a lot of green items lately. But I am currently processing some new ideas in my head. Maybe new curtains and...

The gems of Rethymno

Image
In my blog about Chania I promised to share my experiences also about Rethymno in Crete. Well, finally after the couple of hectic work weeks, I found some time for writing. I must say I absolutely loved the town with its small, clean alleys and historical buildings. Rethymno is actually a lot like Chania but a much more compact version of it. Since I love to treat myself with little luxuries, I opted to stay in Rimondi Boutique Hotels , in the heart of the old town of Rethymno. What a perfect choice it was! Among my best stays ever, and I have seen some pretty amazing 5-star hotels around the globe. Absolute serenity and privacy surrounded by old historical premises taking you back to the days of Renaissance - a unique balance between the old and the new. The services feature along the outdoor pools and jacuzzi, also a nice hammam and spa. The entire atmosphere is elegant, yet sophisticatedly laid-back. All is culminated to the impeccable service provided - sincerely ...

Tiramisu birthday cake

Image
One can never have too many birthday cakes... nor too many guests in the house. The best way to spend your birthday is to be surrounded with your friends and loved ones. For a Leo woman that is the best birthday present one can give - your time! <3 This year, I ended up baking myself delicious gluten-free tiramisu in layer cake form to accompany a ready-made sacher cake. I made two different versions, one based on the traditional Italian tiramisu. But since some do not like the mix of Amaretto liquor and coffee so much, I used Italian chocolate liquor spiced up with peperoncino for the other one - tasted amazing with such rich flavors! Truly worth trying. To make it look like a cake, I made a normal fluffy cake layer with cocoa powder as the bottom layer. For the following layers I used the gluten-free ladyfingers, aka Savoiardi. All the layers are soaked with the rich liquor-coffee syrup. To the filling, I added some extra flavor by adding dulce de lech...
